Try a different brand of gas. Mine has run best on Dixie (Mississippi Gulf Coast), Conoco (Tennessee), Chevron anywhere else. My 98 does not due well on Texaco, Shell, Exxon, ARCO, 76, or any other oxygenated garbage gas. If the fuel where you live is oxygenated (alcohol 5-10%) year round, mileage will suffer unless you nuetralize the alcohol. 104 octane booster at 2-3 caps per tank has worked for me in the past. Alcohol absorbs water, water doesn't burn, mileage and power henceforth are lousy, terrible, non-existent, etc. Octane booster doesn't truly cure the problem, but for some reason seems to help.
